[Bug 367600] Re: Ubuntu 9.04 does not install
Mr. Martin, I want to point out to you, with the hope that this would be of Help to Ubuntu. Xorg malfunctions, also, on my other HP 1160 PC AMD64 with Nvidia GeForce FX53200XT graphics and Ubuntu 9.04 Release. As per a previous Bug report, the monitor , a Samsung 193v, is reported as Display Unknown and the resolution settings cannot be changed. It seems, unfortunately, that, since the Ubuntu 7.10 Release, Xorg misbehaves. The many updates, instead of correcting the problems, have made them worse. [Bug 367600] Re: Ubuntu 9.04 does not install
pulseaudio already works _a lot_ better in 9.04 and the intel xorg drivers will probably start to work well as soon as upstream has finished the transition to UXA (hopefully this will be done for 9.10 but there is no guarantees ofc). Keith Packard has posted a good blog entry about the current situation for the intel driver: http://keithp.com/blogs/Sharpening_the_Intel_Driver_Focus/ As for your bug report, it would be useful to know exactly which chipset you have. Do you think you could boot some live CD that works (possibly in text based rescue mode if necessary) and then run lspci -vvnn and attach the output to this bug report. Also if you have a camera, can you please take a photo of the error? ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Ubuntu 9.04 does not install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 367600] Re: Ubuntu 9.04 does not install
hp.com suggests HP 753 has either i810 or i815 (let's wait for lspci to see). re-assigning to intel package meanwhile. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) = xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) -- Ubuntu 9.04 does not install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The above informations indicate an AMD64 processor. This is because I sent the Bug notice with a different PC singe the i386 destination PC does not work at all.
