[Bug 368331] Re: kubuntu-desktop-kde3 states unmet dependencies, even after sudo apt-get -f install
The KDE3 remix for Jaunty is not supported here. This might be true, but the described error is linked to problems upgrading from Hardy to Jaunty and not to installing kubuntu-desktop- kde3 . At least on my system the package kpager-kde3 collided with the package kpager. kpager was a leftover from Hardy (the same version as kpager- kde3) which had not been uninstalled while upgrading from Hardy to Jaunty. After uninstalling kpager manually the installation process of kubuntu- desktop-kde3 went smoothly. Hope this hint will help fix the bug. [Bug 368331] Re: kubuntu-desktop-kde3 states unmet dependencies, even after sudo apt-get -f install
My KDE4 panel later disappeared, and didn't come back, so I went back to KUbuntu 8.04 (good thing I used partimage to back up the partition before upgrading) One thing that suspect might have happened was that during upgrading to 9.04, I in tried to copy the terminal text by hit 'Control+C' which is the shortcut to interrupt the process in a terminal window and NOT copy text in a terminal window. I tried to upgrade again, it seamed to work the second time, but maybe it didn't. The upgrade also didn't seam to like the fact I installed a compiled compiz-fusion (0.8.2)*. Next time, I'll back up compiz-fusion settings (CCSM-Preferences(bottom left window frame)-Profile Backend tab-Profile-Export) then uninstall the manually installed/compiled compiz-fusion, as well as put back the start up settings, to start kwin instead. *I think it tried to run the complied version which now didn't work, instead of the new repository version. Not sure what was really going on. I didn't really research this issue. (typed ccsm and I think it went to /usr/local/bin/ccsm , isn't that where user compiled stuff goes?) Oh well, back to KUbuntu 8.04, maybe I'll try upgrading again at a later date. -- kubuntu-desktop-kde3 states unmet dependencies, even after sudo apt-get -f install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368331 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kubuntu-meta in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
