Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alsa-base
On any HP Pavilion, no matter what release of Ubuntu (Jaunty, Intrepid, etc) owners always need to edit alsa-base.conf and manually enable sound, which is not only intimidating to anyone not used to such endeavours, it is an irritation to everyone else, assuming they can find a correct fix, which I know many people cannot without help. If it is HP's fault, they will need more pressure than just me to fix this, and if it can be simply changed by the people here, more the better. Luckily, it is only the Pavilions that have this problem, but many people use them, which would be a deterrent for many people. Thank you for taking this into consideration. ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Need to manually enable sound on HP Pavilions. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369032 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
