I think this is due to a problem between nm-applet and dbus. I'm seeing similar behaviour, possibly related to the same bug. When nm- applet starts it prompts for keyring access twice, at the same time (two separate identical dialogues.) Once I enter my password into both, it connects. same thing here. I'm seeing this behavior starting about a week ago in a completely up- to-date Gutsy install. Seems there may have been a regression in recent updates.
