[Bug 374790] Re: error messages in booting
I'm closing this as it's fixed for the original reporter. Goldy - your issue is already reported in the bug you referenced so there's no need for this one to remain open. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- error messages in booting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 374790] Re: error messages in booting
I get this message: ata1 Softreset failed (device not ready) , as posted above, and then this message: SQUASHFS error: Major/Minor mismatch, older Squashfs 3.1 file systems are unsupported. as posted at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squashfs/+bug/375352 and then dropping to shell command line, exit cause kernel panic. Please give it a high priority. Re: [Bug 374790] Re: error messages in booting
I am beginner in Linux-Ubuntu. I don't know how to manage high priority In the meantime I updated to kernel 2.6.28-12 and now there is no more warning message like the following: modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.28-12-generic/modules.dep: No such file or directory Goldy schrieb: I get this message: ata1 Softreset failed (device not ready) , as posted above, and then this message: SQUASHFS error: Major/Minor mismatch, older Squashfs 3.1 file systems are unsupported. as posted at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squashfs/+bug/375352 and then dropping to shell command line, exit cause kernel panic. [Bug 374790] Re: error messages in booting
Thanks, but that doesn't look like a usplash bug. The Softreset failed messages are likely a kernel issue. The modprobe error is because there is no modules.dep shipped in the initramfs, but that is nothing to worry about because depmod -a is executed from the initramfs anyway. ** Package changed: usplash (Ubuntu) = linux (Ubuntu) -- error messages in booting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
