Public bug reported: i had my microsoft vx-1000 lifecam workin in ubuntu 8.10 using this method http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=942915&highlight=microsoft+vx-1000 worked in 8.10 however when i did a fresh install of 9.04 and applied the same instructions it loads ok but when i tested with cheese and checked the output in the terminal i get
