[Bug 381818] Re: Upgrade to byobu 2.6 fails
Dustin, this bug reappeared in 2.7, from byobu ppa (jaunty): Setting up byobu (2.17-0ubuntu1~ppa3) ... Setting up screen-profiles (2.17-0ubuntu1~ppa3) ... Removing `diversion of /usr/bin/screen to /usr/bin/screen.real by screen-profiles' dpkg-divert: rename involves overwriting `/usr/bin/screen' with different file `/usr/bin/screen.real', not allowed dpkg: error processing screen-profiles (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2 Setting up screen-profiles-extras (2.17-0ubuntu1~ppa3) ... See e.g. the Bug #392780. [Bug 381818] Re: Upgrade to byobu 2.6 fails
Hello, thanks for the report. I believe that this bug should be fixed in byobu-2.8 and later versions. [Bug 381818] Re: Upgrade to byobu 2.6 fails
I found a workaround by running the following: sudo dpkg --force-all -r byobu This kills the package forcibly. Then I ran sudo aptitude install byobu to get to the newest version. This appears to fix the issue. I can now install other packages and it doesn't complain about byobu anymore. -- Upgrade to byobu 2.6 fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381818 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
