Does this bug still appear in Ubuntu 9.10 or 10.04? This bug no longer happens. A simple reinstall did not fix it. I needed to remove-purge both gnash and the flashplugin-nonfree, then reinstalled the flashplugin-nonfree only. That fixed the problem. I would prefer to use free software, but in this case the non-free flash plugin seems to have much better performance. Since the last post, I have tried to remove the non free one and give Gnash a try. I get the same result.
