2010-04-11 Thread IMAGinES
Hi, Brad,

Thank you for your e-mail! I finally found a fix this evening:
http://www.shareconnector.com/no-sound-issue-sb-audigy-in-ubuntu-904

I went into Alsamixer, selected “Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack” and
pressed “M” to turn it on. Now sound works fine!

Best regards,

Rob Farquhar

[Bug 390060] Re: [Jaunty] No sound through sound card

2010-03-15 Thread Brad Figg
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically
gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p alsa-base 390060

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon
next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your
results.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Joseph, and thanks for looking into this.

Under alsamixer, master volume is at 92, PCM Cent, PCM Fron and PCM LFE
are at 100 and PCM Out says "pre 3D".

I've also responded to a thread on Ubuntuforums where a user has an
issue very similar to mine (
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1182998 ).

Cheers,

Rob

Thank you for this bug report. Could you try running alsamixer and
making sure that all the volumes are turned up? Also, though we will
look into this bug, in the meantime you sould try to see if you can get
help from the Ubuntu Forums http://ubuntuforums.org/
