I finally found a fix this evening: http://www.shareconnector.com/no-sound-issue-sb-audigy-in-ubuntu-904 I went into Alsamixer, selected “Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack” and pressed “M” to turn it on. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p alsa-base 390060 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. Under alsamixer, master volume is at 92, PCM Cent, PCM Fron and PCM LFE are at 100 and PCM Out says "pre 3D". I've also responded to a thread on Ubuntuforums where a user has an issue very similar to mine ( http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1182998 ).
