[Bug 390920] Re: Sound Card not working on HP Pavilion tx2000 Laptop
The just-released ALSA 1.0.23 may help. From the changelog: - ALSA: hda - Remove the COEF setup for ALC267/ALC268 The COEF setup for model=auto seems problematic on some laptops, resulting in the silent speaker output. Better to disable it for now. -- Sound Card not working on HP Pavilion tx2000 Laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 390920] Re: Sound Card not working on HP Pavilion tx2000 Laptop
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p alsa-base 390920 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Tags added: no-sound-system ** Tags added: jaunty ** Tags added: realtek ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Sound Card not working on HP Pavilion tx2000 Laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for your bug report. Don't worry about being new to Linux, you did good with the bug report. Could you open up a terminal and type this inside: alsamixer This should tell you if your volume is turned up on your machine. Please make sure the volumes are all turned up on your machine. Also, while you are waiting for this bug to be fixed you should make sure and ask for help on the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/. They are usually able to find work arounds to get your system working while the developers work on this bug. -- Sound Card not working on HP Pavilion tx2000 Laptop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390920 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
