There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Hi, I did that that with the same result! So I can connect using pppd/chat following the same instructions (changed only username and phone number). Same issue with Verizon and EVDO. Hi, APN, username, password where set. These values where set during setup and manually. During the test (logs in this case) the values where already there.
