Public bug reported: Hi there, I have a problem with my network at home. I have two PCs, one running Win XP Pro(let's call it "client") and another running Ubuntu 9.04/Win XP Pro(let's call it "server"). My cable internet connection is at the server machine and I share it with the client. I used the network connection tool that comes with gnome and shared the connection without problems and marked the auto connect option for this one. I hoped that it would work just like the Windows version: whenever I start the server using Windows the client can access internet even if I don't connect to my local account wich does not happen using Ubuntu. It only works when I login and click at the shared connection. I know there's a way to do this by changing some text files or by installing some hardware but I want to know: 1 - if there's a way to do this by the gnome interface or 2 - if I am understanding things wrong and I really have to connect and click the connection to activate it or 3 - if this is a bug and how to fix it.
