Public bug reported:

laptop: Lenovo X200
scenario: AC cable in. remove battery, re-insert

reproducible: 100% every battery change / re-insert

battstat-applet shows status: N/A (no battery) until it is removed from
panel, and re-added.

acpi -b:
     Battery 0: Unknown, 99%

hal-device |grep -i bat0:

so acpi and hal see the battery.
battery applet does not get the re-insert event?
