Package changed to 'xdg-user-dirs' due to comment of Lionel Le Folgoc. I made status as New. ** Package changed: thunar (Ubuntu) = xdg-user-dirs (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: xdg-user-dirs (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = New -- Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 393373] Re: Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder
Desktop folder/place is not good default place for downloads. Because people download a lot of application, packages, music, videos . . And Download folder become like a mess or partial copy of the internet - as result there are too much icons on the Desktop. Please set up default folder to /home/USER/Downloads or similar. -- Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 393373] Re: Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder
Hi, This is not a bug in Thunar. Xdg-user-dirs define the desktop as the default download directory, and create a gtk bookmark for it. If you think this is wrong, you should report a bug against 'xdg-user-dirs' package asking to change default directories. ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium = Low ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Lionel Le Folgoc (mrpouit) -- Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 393373] Re: Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Visibility changed to: Public ** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability -- Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 393373] Re: Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder
A fresh installation of Xubuntu 9.04 without creating additional folders shows when HOME is opened, there is a shortcut by default called Download which if clicked is actually a shortcut to /home/$USER/Desktop. Since you created a folder called Downloads, the link to Download will not take you to your created folder. The actual bug is the default folder called Download, which should not exist. Thunar does not automatically create a shortcut to your created folders. Please remove by right-clicking on Download, left-click on delete, to get rid of this false folder shortcut. You can then create a shortcut to your own folder. ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: thunar (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- Thunar creates wrong shortcut link to Downloads folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393373 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
