Re: [Bug 393565] [NEW] Windows 7 is detected as Windows Vista
I'd love to be more precise here. Can you provide any information on telling the two apart? Right now, we treat any filesystem that contains /bootmgr and /boot/bcd as Windows Vista; I'd appreciate information on how to further distinguish Windows 7. Failing that, we could say "Windows Vista/7", but I'd rather not if it isn't necessary. status incomplete ** Changed in: os-prober (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Windows 7 is detected as Windows Vista https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/393565 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 393565] [NEW] Windows 7 is detected as Windows Vista
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: os-prober Running os-prober when I have Windows 7 installed gives this output: /dev/sda3:Windows Vista (loader):Windows:chain While the two are similar, I feel that this should be fixed for accuracy in grub. A source of confusion would be someone who had both Vista and 7 installed, and wasn't sure which entry was which.
