Closing as Won't Fix as per how the bug was closed upstream. This is both non-trivial to implement for the reasons provided in the upstream bug report, and there is a clear and easy workaround: using Shift - Arrow to open and close threads. I looked at the upstream bug, it seems like they wanted to enable Shift- Left and Shift-Right, whereas the standard in all other applications I've used is Left and Right. The shortcuts of "Shift-Left", "Shift-Right", "Shift-+", and "Shift--" are not discoverable. It took me a substantial amount of googling to even find this page. I still have this problem in Ubuntu 10.04, Evolution 2.28.3. The only way I can collapse/expand threads is "Shift--" and "Shift-+". Whatever the fix was, it did not solve this problem for me. This bug is still present in evolution-2.22.1-0ubuntu3 that comes with Hardy. In Gutsy (Evolution 2.12.1) the arrow keys only work in combination with SHIFT, which is better than nothing but not ideal. So, 'SHIFT-right' opens a mail thread, and 'SHIFT-left' closes it. Why not simply use 'right' and 'left'?
