Re: [Bug 395710] Re: Opening "Places/Computer" nautilus crash with Segmentation fault

2009-08-10 Thread Krzysztof Klimonda
This bug was about crash triggered by a bug in ubuntuone code.

If you are seeing a similar crash than you should open a new bug report
by using apport (enable it in /etc/default/apport and restart
service/computer).

sorry to spoil the party, but I get crashes without having ubuntuone-

might be an update I pulled this morning or on friday.

Experienced nautilus crashing because of the ubuntuone extension on

installing the PPA version.

Why is the fixed version not getting pushed into karmic? It's IMHO
pretty serious and many people are experiencing it Please...

The new packages in the PPA fix this. If anyone is still experiencing
the crash, please upgrade to a version >= 0.90.3+r66 from the PPA, and
make sure you restart Nautilus, otherwise the old version will remain in
memory, and the crash will occur once more (only once, since the crash
would cause nautilus to restart, and load the new version of the
extension).

Just a note aside: when I open the UbuntuOne folder, on the "yellow"

I think a simple typo.

Hi... sorry I shouldn't assume that everyone knows how to do this! ok...
have a look at https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/nightlies
this site has explanations on the steps involved. essentially this will
add the newest builds to your system at the time of writing the current
version in the cue to be built is 0.90.3+r68-0ubuntu1~ppa1~jaunty to
0.90.3+r68-0ubuntu1~ppa2~jaunty (substitute karmic if using this!)

once you have added this ppa to your apt sources list & pgp key then you
can update via synaptic as you would normally!
