It's not the GNOME from the distribution CD, I did install it manually after uninstalling EVOLUTION caused it to be uninstalled. when I tried the uninstalls I tried them first in Synaptic Package Manager then in terminal... I commanded: sudo apt-get remove (program name here.) Here's an example: jonat...@david:~$ sudo apt-get remove evolution [sudo] password for jonathan: Sorry, try again. [sudo] password for jonathan: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... [Bug 396342] Re: evolution uninstalls gnome & gnome-desktop-environment
Hi, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. I just tried, but failed, to reproduce it on my machine. The step I took was to run (in a terminal) "sudo apt-get autoremove evolution abiword gnome-games" and then I examined the list of packages that would be removed. I did not see any indication that GNOME would be uninstalled. Can you please elaborate on how exactly you ran in to the problem, as well as how you installed GNOME and those programs in the first place? Is this a standard installation from the CD distribution, or did you perhaps install GNOME manually at some earlier point? Thanks! ** Package changed: ubuntu => gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- evolution uninstalls gnome & gnome-desktop-environment https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/396342 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
