Public bug reported: Currently using daily build (karmic-alternate-i386.iso) from 2009-07-11 + latest updates. Hardware is an Asus Eee Box B202 with Intel 945GMS chipset and Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW. Screen resolution is limited to 1024x768 even though the attached monitor supports up to 1680x1050. This resolution is properly supported with Ubuntu 9.04 and was also supported by Ubuntu karmic up until recently (not certain, but I think it stopped working when the kernel switched from 2.6.30 to 2.6.31).
During system startup the splash screen seems to be using the maximum supported resolution, however the logo is located on the upper left corner instead of screen center. When "System > Administration > System Testing" is run it reports "This display is using resolution. Is this acceptable for your display?" (No ;) Versions: - Ubuntu karmic (development branch) 9.10 - xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3ubuntu5, xserver-xorg-core 2:1.6.1.901-2ubuntu2 - xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.7.99.901+git20090702.74227141-0ubuntu1 - kernel: 2.6.31-2.17 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 945gms intel karmic -- [karmic] Too low resolution on Intel 945GMS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398490 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
