[Bug 398552] Re: longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken
reto, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398552 Title: longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/398552/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 398552] Re: longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken
Hello, I also have an HP Mini 2133 and based on some benchmarks I made using the distributed.net client it runs at halfspeed compared to the Windows XP version running on the same hardware. It seems that what ever cpufreq reports the Via C7-M CPU always runs at 800 MHz (instead of 1600 MHz). I tried to follow these guidelines: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LaptopTestingTeam/HP2133/CPUScalingFix Since I did not find the menu.lst file I edited the grub.cfg this changed nothing. There is also this thread e_powersaver driver considered DANGEROUS (was Re: Linux 2.6.30-rc8 [also: VIA Support]) http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2009-06/msg03518.html -- longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 398552] Re: longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken
Confirmed! Please remove longhaul support from in-build kernel as it makes my via epia to freeze at random time. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Confirmed ** Package changed: ubuntu = linux (Ubuntu) -- longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 398552] Re: longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken
I would like to request loading it as a module. According to VIA: http://www.viaarena.com/displaydownload.aspx?PageID=1DSCat=32DCatType=3 The Power Saver feature is considered experimental at this time and users are advised to visit VIA Arena regularly for the latest update. An IDE lockup issue occurs on some VIA EPIA Mini-ITX mainboards when the Power Saver feature is enabled. A patch to resolve this issue is available for Fedora Core 3.0/4.0/.50 in the drivers section. VIA has a bios beta update that might address this issue: http://www.viaarena.com/displaydownload.aspx?PageID=1DSCat=155DCatType=3 Since this bios is listed as a beta, users shouldn't be expected to use it. -- longhaul is loaded despite being reported broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
