[Bug 403928] Re: Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations.
Thank you for your bug report, nautilus doesn't require gdm you just need to set your dbus environment correctly ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) -- Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 403928] Re: Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations.
As you've clearly got some understanding could you please provide a pointer or two on how one goes about setting their dbus environment correctly? Googling 'dbus environment' (with nautilus, or without) didn't get me very far. -- Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

not sure what is going on but you need dbus to be running, did you try starting nautilus using dbus-launch nautilus? -- Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 403928] Re: Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations.
Yes, tried that and it didn't work either. I did some more trial and error and found that launching my window manager using dbus-launch seems to let nautilus do the right thing (I've purged gdm). My .xinitrc now contains: conky & dbus-launch --exit-with-session wmaker I type startx and things seem OK -- Nautilus cannot handle "network" locations. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403928 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
