Re: [Bug 404646] Re: xfce4-power-manager 0.8.2-1 crashed with signal 5 in client_session_set_client_id()

2010-02-01 Thread Andrew
I got an error window when the desktop loaded on the live CD of 10.04
alpha2, but the install went alright. The error reappeared when I
rebooted onto the installed desktop, but after the first lot of updates
everything has been fine. This was the 64 bit version of Xubuntu.
Hardware is ASRock mobo, socket AM3,with Phenom II X3, now using a
Nvidia 8400GS graphics and Cmedia soundcard.
I didn't report the original error because there wasn't a link and
error report in the error window.

I have been having this problem too, and like other posters the bug has
persisted to 0.8.3.1-1. So now I'm trying the packages from Lionel's
PPA (0.8.3.1-1ubuntu1~test2). I'll keep an eye open for more crashes...

Which installer? (gdebi?)
Anyway, you can download them in a directory, and run "sudo dpkg -i

According to upstream developer, this is fixed in xfce4-power-manager
0.8.3. This bug report and all dups indeed refer to xf-p-m 0.8.2. If
this issue is still reproducible with xf-p-m 0.8.3 (can't reproduce
here), please reopen this bug report. Thanks.
