I can reproduce this on Italian keyboard, Ubuntu 12.04. Tero, Oks, so it's working? I'm glad to hear that :D One more thing. I have a latin american keyboard, and I have a } key. To use ] I press: shift + } If you have a latinamerican keyboard, maybe it's not well configurated. I tested AltGr-Ctrl-9 again, and it does work. It seems to work reliably by pressing it once on an empty line, then pressing enter. Still broken in Ubuntu 9.04 amd64, telnet 0.17-36, Finnish keymap. Anton: AltGr-Ctrl-9 doesn't work for me. What's "strg"? Is it Ctrl in German and Spanish keyboard? Malev: Finnish keyboard doesn't have a single key for right square bracket ']'. Instead, you press AltGr-9 to get that character. In addition to escape character not working, it echoes on the screen and doesn't work: $ telnet localhost 80 Trying ::1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. ^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^]^] AltGr-Ctrl-9 doesn't work... We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release?
