I cannot reproduce this in the current version. It seems to have been
fixed upstream meanwhile!

  3. Start to enter a name, as soon as you enter a character, additional 
nonUTF8 characters appear.
  
  Also: the Type dropdown box is empty. 
  Console output is: (anjuta:7396): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_combo_box_append_text: 
assertion `GTK_IS_LIST_STORE (combo_box-priv-model)' failed
