Yes.

But the Network manager has developed another anoying problem:
When the network connection fails (while beeing on the train for 
example), the connection not only is not beeing automatically 
re-established, but instead NM is not even able to establish a manually 
triggered connection anymore, even even when good reception is 
available. Sometimes it even looses all knowledge about the available 
UMTS Modem.

In those cases only a complete NM restart will bring the subsystem back 
to life.

i had a similar problem, I thought it was a device mounting problem, but
for me the answer was simpler than that. check to see that you have
modemanager from synaptic. apparently, networkmanager didn't mark it as
dependent in this version, only recommended.

I get the feeling that evdo devices were not managed through this
package earlier... one restart and it took a few extra plug-and-unplug
attempts.
