But the Network manager has developed another anoying problem: When the network connection fails (while beeing on the train for example), the connection not only is not beeing automatically re-established, but instead NM is not even able to establish a manually triggered connection anymore, even even when good reception is available. Sometimes it even looses all knowledge about the available UMTS Modem. In those cases only a complete NM restart will bring the subsystem back to life. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431177 Title: Dell 5520 Mobile Broadband card is again not beeing detected by NetworkManager 0.8 on Karmic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/431177/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 431177] Re: Dell 5520 Mobile Broadband card is again not beeing detected by NetworkManager 0.8 on Karmic
i had a similar problem, I thought it was a device mounting problem, but for me the answer was simpler than that. check to see that you have modemanager from synaptic. apparently, networkmanager didn't mark it as dependent in this version, only recommended. I get the feeling that evdo devices were not managed through this package earlier... one restart and it took a few extra plug-and-unplug attempts. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431177 Title: Dell 5520 Mobile Broadband card is again not beeing detected by NetworkManager 0.8 on Karmic -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
