2010-03-23 Thread Michael Doube
Pepe,

I should have been more specific in comment #26 above; I tested the
daily ISO (just pre-beta) of Lucid. So, the bug is present in both 9.10
and 10.04.

I'm marking this bug as triaged to let the developers work.

Please, can you include any information about if this behavior is only
present in 9.10?

Thanks

This bug is still present in today's ISO. The kernel appears to be
listening to killswitch events but it is still impossible to turn on

** Description changed:

Like bug #193970 and bug #430809, Wifi cannot be initialised if my
notebook (Sony Vaio SZ650) is shut down or suspended with the killswitch
enabled, then restarted with the killswitch enabled. Disabling the
killswitch in the new session has no effect. this is with Intel 4965
  and iwlagn.

2010-01-29 Thread ^_Pepe_^
Hi all,

We'd like to know whether this is still an issue for you. If so, please can you
try with last kernel version, (Lucid upstream) which is located on
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.32/

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 438559] Re: Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965

2009-10-08 Thread Michael Doube
After some testing, I see that when rebooting, the important thing is
killswitch state during boot.

If the machine is booted with the killswitch ON, wifi is not turned on
in the session when the killswitch is switched OFF. If the machine is
booted with the killswitch OFF, wifi works as normal and the killswitch
works as normal during the session. It doesn't matter what state the
killswitch is in during shutdown.

[Bug 438559] Re: Disabling killswitch after restart does not enable wifi , iwl4965

2009-10-08 Thread Michael Doube
The system also can't handle it if the killswitch state is changed
during suspend to RAM. The killswitch works fine if killswitch state is
the same at suspend at resume, but you get no wifi if the killswitch is
switched during suspend.
