Hi, you could try this to remove the bold texts on the panel (I don't
know if there's a better way out there though)

Just open up your home folder and make sure you can view all hidden files, look
for the file .gtkrc-2.0
If the file isnt there open up your text editor and create one, put this
into that file:
style modpanel
{
font_name = Sans 9
fg[NORMAL] = #060606
}
widget *PanelWidget* style modpanel
widget *PanelApplet* style modpanel
widget *fast-user-switch-applet* style modpanel
Thats it! Just save the file. And into the terminal put :
killall gnome-panel
Now you got readable fonts in gnome panel.

Just upgraded from jaunty to karmic, and the dust theme still has the bold text. The change didn't make it to karmic. I quite like the way that Shiki does it, with bold text for the Applications/Places/System menu but normal text for the clock, simply because otherwise the clock uses up lots of space.
