Hello Dananjaya, Unfortunately, the GDB output does not show anything usable. The easiest way to get the backtrace, in your case, is to run evince directly under GDB: gdb --args evince name of PDF to see where name of PDF to see is the PDF causing you grief. After GDB starts, type 'r' (for 'run'), and hit Enter. Wait until evince fails, then type in: bt full # this will generate a backtrace full of the offending thread and then t a a bt f # thread apply all bt full -- will generate a backtrace of all threads. and then please upload the resulting output. OK this is the backtrace log I generated using the method that you described. but this time when I run evince through gdb it doesn't crash immediately. the program just getting non responsive. the only thing I can do is force quit it. but I performed the steps you've mentioned anyway and as soon as I type 't a a bt f' at the gdb prompt,evince quits. Here are some lines that for some reason not included in the backtrace log I find suspicious. I can't seem to find why the .crash report is missing. apport is already enabled in my distribution( Location /etc/default/apport) and cant find any crash reports in /var/crash folder. it is empty. I uploaded a backtrace generated using gdb.
