[Bug 44733] Re: Aironet Wireless network card doesn't work

2009-05-06 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
The 18 month support period for Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 has reached its end of life -
http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-7.10-eol . As a result, we are closing the
linux-source-2.6.22 kernel task. It would be helpful if you could test the
new Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 release and confirm if this issue remains -
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/904overview. If the issue still
exists with the Jaunty
release, please update this report by changing the Status of the linux
(Ubuntu)
task from Incomplete to New. Also please be sure to run the command below
which will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report. Thanks in advance.

apport-collect -p linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic 44733

Since it's been a very long time since any additional info was added to
this bug, I'm just checking to see if this is still an issue, and find
out what additional work should be done on this bug.

2008-05-01 Thread andy8co
Hi, I am running a armada m300 with an aironet 350.
I have been trying to get my wpa up and running, and after lots of searching I
began to realize that it doesn't support wpa. Or I might be wrong.
Is there a definitive list of what can and can't be done with the airo driver?

[Bug 44733] Re: Aironet Wireless network card doesn't work

2008-03-28 Thread joenix
I am running a 2.6.22-14 kernel on Hardy. The problem is no longer present
under this setup.
I am unable to test against the most recent kernel, since bug 189398 prevents
me from using the card under the newer kernels.

I personally would not like to see the closed source Cisco driver being
used in Ubuntu. The open source drivers used to work perfectly, I think
we should focus our efforts on getting them fixed.

Can anyone else confirm this against later releases (preferably Gutsy
and/or Hardy)?

[Bug 44733] Re: Aironet Wireless network card doesn't work

2008-03-16 Thread Gareth Fitzworthington
Cisco has drivers for this. These appears to be binary closed source drivers.
http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/102/wlan/linux.html

Perhaps there is a case for inclusion of these in the Restricted Driver set.
Maybe there already there?? Can someone check? (System - Administration -
Restricted Drivers Manager)
Marking against Gutsy.

[Bug 44733] Re: Aironet Wireless network card doesn't work

2007-09-04 Thread joenix
Hi,

This problem is still present in Gutsy Tribe 5.
Disabling NetworkManager and adding these lines to /etc/network/interfaces
fixes the problem.

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp
wireless-essid your essid here
wireless-key [1] your key here

2007-04-05 Thread joenix
Finally someone seems to have found a solution to the WEP problem:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=318884
I did have to do 'sudo iwconfig eth1 key [1]' (without the actual key)
afterwards to activate the right key.

Hi Jonathan,

I noticed you sent me this question earlier. I didn't have time then and I
totally forgot about it afterwards. I'm terribly sorry. Please let me know
if there is anything else I can help you with.

See you,
Jeroen

2006-06-25 Thread Jonathan Blue
Jeroen,

Thanks a lot for your help, it seems to work with firmware 5.20.17, but
only in unsecured mode. I had no luck with WEP 64 or 128 bit at all -
seems to be a problem in the Ubuntu driver.

Cheers,
Jonathan
