have the opportunity to test the vanilla-kernel, I will do it.

Maybe it would be productive to report this on linux-kernel-bugs #14141

[Bug 450981] Re: iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Can not allocate SKB buffers

2010-04-25 Thread steindani
Yes, it's still an issue.
I'm using an up to date Lucid, on my Lenovo T500 (Intel WifiLink 5300). I have
two issues: sometimes it takes a looong time to download a webpage (Failed to
allocate SKB buffer...), and sometimes when I download something with
Transmission, the 2.2MB/s connection slows down to 100KB/s, which is really
annoying, and could be cured with reconnecting to the router.

If I could help somehow, please write me down exactly what I should do,
because I'm a bit new here.

2010-01-22 Thread zigi
I can confirm this bug in Kubuntu - Lucid with kernel 2.6.32-11-generic
#15-Ubuntu. System was unusable for 17 minutes and consumed the entire
swap. Then the X window system rebooted itself (Jan 22 09:25:32 sweetie
kernel: [59679.495033] Out of memory: kill process 1928 (kdeinit4) score
5312589 or a child). I was connected to the network via UTP cable. I
think, this problem occurs whenever there is no leisure physical memory.

[Bug 450981] Re: iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Can not allocate SKB buffers

2010-01-22 Thread zigi
It seems that the problem occurs on heavy/intensive memory use. And
according to me it's worse than with the 2.6.32-10.14 kernel.

I only seem to get this problem as soon as I hit a memory spike (usually with

And iwlagn will get stuck at a 100% CPU. I'm currently using Ubuntu
Karmic with the newest updates. I have not found a way to reproduce it
easily, so it may very well be a race condition.

[Bug 450981] Re: iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Can not allocate SKB buffers

2009-10-18 Thread Jesse Michael
It could be my imagination, but it seemed to take more effort to get it
to fail with the version of the driver from the linux-backports-modules-
wireless-karmic-generic package, but I still eventually ended up with
the attached dmesg log.

[Bug 450981] Re: iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Can not allocate SKB buffers

2009-10-16 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hi Jesse,

Can you try installing the linux-backports-modules-wireless-karmic-
generic package, reboot, and then see if you're able to reproduce? That
package contains an updated compat-wireless stable release backport.

[Bug 450981] Re: iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Can not allocate SKB buffers

2009-10-15 Thread Jesse Michael
I'm seeing this also. When doing heavy network access, iwlagn will
start dumping backtraces and errors about not being able to allocate
SKBs.

My network still seems to be working, but things seem slower than normal
after that happens.
