Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

While browsing a tiny, empty window appeared (in X--not a div or frame
in the browser) with the X.Org icon. The window seemed to do nothing and
to be unassociated with Firefox. However, when I closed the tiny, empty
window, Firefox closed with it and soon thereafter the crash report for
Firefox appeared.
