Also confirmed on Dell Latitude D530 . Although stopping hal does not change anything for me, I also still see the GUI indication. I can confirm the same behavior on two Dell laptops running fresh installs of 9.10 XPS m1330 and Inspiron 1440 both have Intel video stopping or blocking gnome-power-manager also "fixes" the problem, but no GUI indication Is this a duplicate of bug 207473?
