[Bug 459012] Re: [107790.197026] Kernel oops WARNING in iwlcore

2010-04-21 Thread Jeremy Foshee
Hi francismacomber,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach
updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 459012

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be
great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 459012] Re: [107790.197026] Kernel oops WARNING in iwlcore

2010-01-06 Thread madbiologist
This may be relevant:

Linux kernel 2.6.33-rc3 has just been released. The release notes at
http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/1/5/512 contain the following comment:

iwl3945: fix panic in iwl3945 driver

Based on past kernel releases, I'd expect between 3 and 5 more RC's (at
approximately 1-week intervals) before 2.6.33 final. Then we just need
someone to make a PPA for Karmic, and later on a PPA for Lucid, once
it's released.

[Bug 459012] Re: [107790.197026] Kernel oops WARNING in iwlcore

2009-12-22 Thread Greg Michalec
I am getting a similar issue. My wireless will stop working (connected,
but no transfer) from time to time, and a few times it has resulted in a
system hang. It seems to primarily happen when I am downloading torrents
with deluge. I am using an Intel iwl3945 (0c:00.0 Network controller:
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev
02)) and kernel 2.6.31-17-generic.

Here is the relevant section of /var/log/syslog:
