[Bug 461181] Re: nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks
NM website claims: NetworkManager supports most network security methods and protocols, including WEP, WPA/WPA2, WPA-Enterprise and WPA2-Enterprise, wired 802.1x, and VPNs If there are shortcomings in NM or nm-applet, please file bugs upstream. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/browse.cgi?product=NetworkManager ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461181 Title: nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/461181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

you must be kidding - of course it claims the feautre otherwise it wouldn't be a bug report ! - would be a wishlist request if it wouldn't be there ... i don't have access to the hardware this month - but a very suprised that you just simply closed the bug ... I have to admit that it might be deprecated with 12.04 though - but i couldn't test it yet - and that needs to be done before closing this BUG. I'd appreciate if you take it upstream but i didn't have the time for that yet ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461181 Title: nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/461181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry, but as evidenced by the fact that no one responded to your feature request for two years, Ubuntu community members don't have time to maintain useless copies of requests for features to be added upstream. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461181 Title: nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/461181/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

@ Berni: I don't think so as EAP id the usual framework for all 802.1x encryption See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Authentication_Protocol#EAP-MD5 -- nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 461181] Re: nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks
To the developers of network-manager: Maybe you can add the option none in the drop down menu where you can choose the peap version. So that peap isn't in use with this option. Only eap with md5 challenge. I think that's missing. -- nm-applet misses a valid option to connect to 802.1x secured (md5 chanllenge) networks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
