Added bug to xorg-server since it's fixed there upstreams: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=19f7c15e2008dab3c46ba3e14dfa353d01c74f72 According to a comment in the upstream bugreport it requires a newer version of xorg-server to work. The work around patch to xf86-video-intel in https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24482 fixes the issue in the version of xf86-video-intel in Karmic (at least for me). To me it seems (from the sequence above) like it reads from EDID, understand that it's wrong when calculating the dpi but somehow forgets it when KMS is started. Another reason to think the problem is in KMS is that this only happens when KMS is used.
