[Bug 463830] Re: query truncation bug in pymssql-1.0.1

2010-06-02 Thread Peter Schwenke
I found that the 1.0.2 version would cause Python to seg fault in
_mssql.so. I have been heavily running 1.9.908ubuntu2 on a number of
machines. Without any problems.

It is available in my PPA https://launchpad.net/~bluetoad/+archive/ppa

[Bug 463830] Re: query truncation bug in pymssql-1.0.1

2010-03-25 Thread Peter Schwenke
I spent several hours with 1.0.1 on Karmic trying to determine why
things would work for a while or occasionally and decided some
corruption must be happening to the SQL queries.

So I looked at http://pymssql.sourceforge.net/. Here is the first few
lines from the release notes for 1.0.2.

2009-04-28: pymssql 1.0.2 has been released.

* fixed severe bug introduced in 1.0.0 that caused some queries to
be truncated or overwritten with binary garbage - many thanks to Igor
Nazarenko who found the exact cause of the bug,

I have built 1.0.2 using the packaging from the 1,0.1 source deb. It is
available from my PPA

https://launchpad.net/~bluetoad/+archive/ppa

This bug really should be fixed and 1.0.2 included in Karmic. As
pointed out by other reporters the package is all but useless in its
current state.

[Bug 463830] Re: query truncation bug in pymssql-1.0.1

2009-12-15 Thread Matt Dunn
I agree with Chris Hoover. I spent a day researching and tracing an
error in a SQL client (crunchyfrog). Connections to the SQL Server
instance were made properly, but any query I executed created the
following error:

Query failed (0.000 secons)
../Objects/stringobject.c:4491: bad argument to internal function

The culprit was pymssql-1.0.1 and manually installing version 1.0.2
resolved the problem. I hope this gets rolled in as the latest-greatest
version in the repositories soon so others may avoid my issues.

2009-11-12 Thread Christopher Hoover
This bug is a showstopper; it makes the package all but useless.
