[Bug 472151] Re: ubuntu 9.10 no sound: Power down HDA controllers after 10 idle seconds

2010-04-22 Thread Jeremy Foshee
Hi felipemoraes,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach
updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 472151

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be
great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 472151] Re: ubuntu 9.10 no sound

2009-11-21 Thread felipemoraes
Well, after searching I found which disabling the power down HDA
controllers solved most of my problem, althought each session starts
with audio muted( i have to increase volume to enable it).

In alsa-base.conf
# Power down HDA controllers after 10 idle seconds
options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N

2009-11-17 Thread felipemoraes
How do I run the log when the sound dissapears, if audio never appeared?
If what you´re asking is to force reload alsa until i get sound and wait
for a rather random secondary issue were the sound dissapears again
after appearing with alsa force reload just say

That log isn't very useful; we need the log running when your sound
disappears.
