Re: [Bug 475171] Re: No sound at Login screen & choppy sound at desktop start up

2010-04-04 Thread David Evans
Hi Brad,

Thanks for your response and help. Karmic Koala 9.10, still lacks sound at
the login screen and the desktop startup sound is still choppy.

I am currently using Lucid Lynx 10.04, since Alpha 3 sound in the "buggy"
area is much improved. There was an update that did revert back to the
choppy sound with crackles and pops, but currently in Lucid Lynx 10.04 Beta
1-login sound is good/normal and the desktop startup sound is not choppy,
though it still has slight crackles and pops. Thus far the "buggy" sound has
been improved.

*If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically
gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p alsa-base 475171*
*
*
*Done.*
*
*
*As far as the "latest upstream kernel", I am not sure which one I should
use for the current 10.04 Beta 1 release. If you could inform me which one
that would be great, if you have the time to do so. I thank you kindly, for
your assistance.*

*
*Regards,*

[Bug 475171] Re: No sound at Login screen & choppy sound at desktop start up

2010-03-27 Thread Brad Figg
Hi David,

Please, if you are still having issues, test with the latest development
release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically
gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p alsa-base 475171

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds .

Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-
upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil
icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

Please let us know your results.

inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]
