Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

Hi all,

I've just installed ubuntu 9.10 (32bit) on my samsung r470 (c2d p8600n +
nvidia g105m 256mb). Everything works fine except the brightness
control. Even the gnome aplet doesnt work. Only way for me to change the
brightness is to use nvclock/smartdimmer. Also, when i plug out the
charger, LCD is still at 100%, it doesnt get any dimmer. I've read a lot
of solutions for this, and tried them all, but none seem to work.

Is this a bug or what?
