The bug is still present in 10.04RC, tested with a LiveCD. So I did an apport-collect. I will try it with the latest upstream kernel when I'll have more time. -- No sound when volume control is set at a low level on Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478365 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 478365] Re: No sound when volume control is set at a low level on Karmic
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: With gnome-volume-control, it's possible to select the volume output I want between 15% and 100%. When the seound volume is set below 15 %, there is no sound. The problem is that the sound at 16 % is too loud. The solution given in Bug #420578 in comment 8 stops the behavior : replacing all instance of "volume = merge" with "volume = ignore" in /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/analog-output.conf*. But this solution cause the login sound to be very loud whatever was the sound level in the last session. [Bug 478365] Re: No sound when volume control is set at a low level on Karmic
Hi Marc, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 478365 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kernel-sound ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- No sound when volume control is set at a low level on Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/478365 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
