Ok, here's it: I tried to burn an image to DVD-RAM (which already has something on it). It failed because it said there was an not enough space on the medium. I then tried to blank the medium with brasero, which also failed. (brasero-debug-with-non-empty-DVD-RAM.txt) I then overwrote the first megabyte of the DVD-RAM with zeros and then tried it again. Following error appears: "Please replace the disc with a supported CD or DVD. It is not possible to write with the current set of plugins." However, checking the brasero homepage, no plugins are available. A google search didn't find anything useful, either.
