[Bug 482300] Re: Mouse behaviour on notebooks
David Totaro, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-evdev REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. [Bug 482300] Re: Mouse behaviour on notebooks
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Two peripheral to control a single pointer is confusing. But this is what happens when, on a notebook, you plug a mouse. In this case, the touchpad should be disabled because, if I connect a mouse, is obvious that I want to use it and only it. A notification and a tray icon should appear to inform the user. The touchpad should be re-enabled with the mouse disconnection or by clicking to the icon. [Bug 482300] Re: Mouse behaviour on notebooks
Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. - Though this is a bug. This is not a common user scenario , where the user has to plugin an external mouse. Hence not a papercut. For further information about papercuts criteria, please read https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut. Don't worry though, this bug has been marked as "Invalid" only in the papercuts project. This bug does not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. Kindly re-assign the bug to the package . You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: New => Invalid ** Also affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Mouse behaviour on notebooks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
