[Bug 485619] Re: ksoftirqd/0 uses 100% CPU
Hi Lawrence, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 485619 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. [Bug 485619] Re: ksoftirqd/0 uses 100% CPU
This happens to me as well. I believe it started to appear after some update for 9.04; after upgrade to 9.10 it happens much more often (lake every 2 days). I do not see anything suspicious in logs (actually in most cases there is nothing in logs at all for sometime before it happens) or in /proc/interrupts. Ireally don't know where to look. The only thing that helps is restart. One more thing about restarts: when ksoftirqd/0 was starting to eat my CPU in 9.04 I couldn't reboot - it was just black screen after I press reboot. Now laptop reboots normally. So it seems that there is at least some progress with this bug :) -- ksoftirqd/0 uses 100% CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/485619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
