today I had a random crash. This was a longer running firefox, had just done lots of youtube watching, but I had closed all tabs. I clicked on 2 links in thunderbird (external links opening in firefox) one of those was youtube. The first tab displays completely, the second tab (youtube) is loading in background. Before that one finishes loading: crashed. I cannot reproduce (random crash). I had the same problem several times. FF2 randomly crashes frequently. (NB. The CrashCounter shows 1 crash, but it's because i've reset it to really focus on this crash. I include with this comment the complete report of the crash. I can't tell what's the exact source because it seems to happens randomly. Some days it don't crash and another it can crash several times an hour. My hypothesis is maybe the kind of script used by a web page that causes a conflict or too many onglets opened at the same time, or it's totally hazardous. The problem seems to happens generally when there's more than one windows opened, but in fact most of the times I got several onglets/pages opened at the same time, so it can be just a coincidence. Ne way it was just indications about the kind of usage I do with the browser, hopes it can be helpful. Apart from that, I don't think extensions are an issue in this case since it also happens on a completely blank and new profile. But here they are: Plugins (see attached file). I'm was also having random segfaults in multiple apps on my laptop install of Edgy. Dapper was fine and the crashes showed up nearly immediately. I'm having the same problem, on Kubuntu Edgy and stock FF2. I tried not using my FF profile, but it will randomly crash just as well. This is not the only application showing this behaviour, but it is the one in with it is more frequent: Amarok, Konqueror, KWin and Kicker are others. As this is happening to me in more than one application I thought it could be a hardware problem. Hi... I'm getting random crashes regularly with FF2 (64bit) and Swiftfox (32bit) on Edgy 6.10 (x86_64 generic). It never happened on Dapper. There is absolutely no pattern whatsoever, it can happen when I'm reading a page with no mouse or keyboard activity. The only output in the terminal is a segfault. I cannot attach a crash report as the automated crash reporter never kicks in even though I have the 'apport' service running. I have tried running with no extensions and a clean profile, makes no difference. Anything else I can try to narrow this down? Cheers ...
