The OpenVZ user-guide linked above looks pretty good now on Ubuntu 10.04 alpha 2 updated to the latest version of poppler. Well, in my case I think it is not upon the .pdf file. For example, the User-Guide of OpenVZ project on their webpage (http://wiki.openvz.org/Main_Page) has these problems. All the .pdf- files I read have the bad-smoothing.
