[Bug 492942] Re: Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications
The Switching from Windows guide is no longer maintained and has been removed from ubuntu-docs, so I'll close this bug. ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Invalid -- Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 492942] Re: Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications
Would it be better if we called them Preinstalled Apps or Apps included on Ubuntu Installation CD? It seems like labeling them Installed Apps might possibly lead to some confusion among users who are just beginning to learn Ubuntu. Calling the others Featured Apps is good. Also, do you know if there's a wiki page that has instructions for working on online documentation like this? -- Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 492942] Re: Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications
Yah, I think we can separate the page into two sections, one would say something like Installed Apps and the second part would say something like Featured Apps. This would help new users get a better understanding of what's available to them as they move over to Ubuntu and also we could attach apt:// links to those so they can have the ease of click and install. I will post up a rough-draft of what the 2 sections would look like ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: New = In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Vikram (dhillon-v10) -- Listing non-default applications in Ubuntu Equivalents to Windows Applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
