Thank you for the update. Unfortunately, we do not package that
extension, so we cannot fix it, but you can contact the developer here:

Please report any other issues you may find with Ubuntu.

If you want to try disabling all your extensions and then enable them
one by one, maybe you can find the one causing the issue. If you figure
it out, please let us know. In the mean time, I'm closing this bug as

I moved ~/.mozilla out of the way and the broblem has gone away.

(But I loose all saved state like beekmarks)

There is something I must have in my ~/.mozilla on two out of three
computers.

Or it may that the two that do not work are not i386. One is 64-bit
and the other is a Transmeta (which is supposed to emulate intel).

Who knows? I will not throw out my old .mozilla so if anybody else
strikes this

It seems like your issue is not limited to just Firefox. Perhaps it's a
video driver issue? There is no easy way to downgrade as far as I know.

Could you please post the results of:
lshw -C video

Thanks.

More information

I have another computer with the same problem. It is a TC1000 laptop. Quite
old, I do not use it much, but it has the similar problems with mozilla

http://pj.freefaculty.org/R/Rtips.html does not render properly, but it does
render properly on my desktop mozilla (that I first noticed the bug). The
left mouse button does not work. There is no wheel so I cannot check that.

There is very little KDE stuff on the TC1000.

Rather than dream up diagnostic things to do and send unneeded information I
will wait for your recommendation. I can manage with konqueror for a little
while.

Seems that ABI-Word is OK

Epiphany is all over the place.

Tabs do not render. I get an incomplete rendering of one tab. See screen
shot.

Clicking works OK, wheel looks OK.

Does that help?

Konquerer seems to work fine, but I am not used to it so it may not be. But it
is working better than Epiphany

I should add that I tried purging firefox and all packages I could fin related,
and then installed 'abrowser'. Still have the same problem.

Have you any recommendations for diagnosing further what is causing the
problem?

that's ok. Setting to new again.

[Bug 495390] Re: Does not work with mouse or remember state

2009-12-11 Thread Worik
This does happen using a new empty profile.

When I run firefox -P it opens with a blank page.

More information:

These problems do not occur on my other computer. A laptop.

An important difference between the two is the computer I have the
problems on I installed KDE and tried running it for a while (I was sick
of evolution and wanted to try kmail). Latter I switched back (keeping
kmail).

I made the switch by installing a package (kde-desktop???) and used the
menu in GDM to set KDE as my desktop.

I since switched back via that same menu.

Since then, when booting, the system calls itself 'kubuntu'. I have
tried deleting lots of KDE packages, anything that would not delete
kmail.

Still calls itself kubuntu as it boots.

thanks
