Uname: Linux 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 17:01:44 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux Evince 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2 I note that the Helvetica fonts are not embedded in the pdf document. There is another bug #495430 that seems to affect pdf files with fonts that are not embedded. It causes the symptoms you describe. Try printing the above document to a pdf file, and then try to print that second pdf file to your printer. If the second pdf file prints okay and the fonts are now embedded, then this bug may be a duplicate of #495430 and should probably be marked as such. In fact, I am pretty sure it is, so I will mark it as such. If I am wrong, then by all means, switch it back. @madbiologist: If this bug is a dupe of 495430, then it would be interesting to know what the difference is between your machine and the ones that don't print the file. I can print the attached file without any problems on my Canon i965, attached locally via USB. I'm running Karmic 9.10 with all the latest updates.
