[Bug 498489] Re: Firefox not accessible to Orca if run from keyboard shortcut

2009-12-22 Thread WaywardGeek
This bug seems to have gone away! I did a clean reinstall of Ubuntu
Lucid Alpha, and updated, and then set keybindings including firefox.
Launching firefox from a keyboard shortcut now seems to work just fine.

Setting to Incomplete pending answering of the last question by the
reporter.

@hammera
There's no need to assign a bug to yourself if you are not fixing it.

I can confirm this bug. If no one else is available to fix this for
Lucid, then assign it to me.

Status in “firefox-3.5” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

 Bug description:
 Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

This occurs in Ubuntu Lucid alpha.  Blind users use Orca to navigate through
firefox.  Since they can't use a mouse to hit the firefox icon on the top
panel, they prefer to launch it with a keyboard shortcut.  If you use
/System/Prefereces/Keyboard Shortcuts to assign 'Launch web browser' to any
key combination, and then launch firefox using that key combination, then
firefox is reported as an inaccessible application to Orca.  However, if we
launce firefox from a gnome-terminal, it is accessible.

Bill, your system does'nt solving the at-spi, pyatspi updates the problem?
The problem is present your system after you installed the actual
updates and restart the system?

Yes. This bug is probably related, but it still happens on my system,
even after the pyatspi fix.

2009-12-20 Thread Attila Hammer
No, I am not fixed this bug.
Possible I setted up wrong status the bugreport, because my screen
reader now does'nt spokened right the links if I would like changing the
edit part of this bug. The confirmed status is true, but possible
does'nt need change the affected status part of the bugreport.

Bill, now I updated my system. In upgrades, have at-spi and py-atspi
upgrades. After I installed all updates, Firefox is accessible now again
when I launching Firefox with shortcut.

Please look this, if you confirming this, this bug is fixed.
