Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mtpfs

I've got this sony mp3 player (nwz-b135) that kubuntu refuses to recognise. I'm
on 9.10 (64bit) now and it worked fine on 9.04 (I've had to do a format and
reinstall since then) it also works on the same machine if I use an ubuntu
livecd so it's not a hardware issue. If I plug it in, the lcd shows connected
but kubuntu does nothing.
Here's some output.

dmesg

[ 1493.491397] usb 2-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
[ 1493.645422] usb 2-5: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[ 1493.645839] scsi9 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
[ 1493.645900] usb-storage: device found at 4
[ 1493.645902] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning

and that's all it does, it never settles no matter how many times I switch it
out or what port I try.

lsusb shows it up

I'm not 100% sure it's down to mtpfs but it's my best guess so far,
apologies if ti's not.
